Ice Fishing with Dad

The above photo was taken by Ken a few days ago at Ennis Lake.  I marvel at those people who ice fish on our lake.

Saturday morning it began to snow just after seven and dumped about three to four inches here in town.  This morning it was fourteen degrees.

The sun came out and it has been a beautiful sunshiny day.  It looks like it is twenty-eight degrees now.  I love seeing the way the light sparkles on the snow.

Deer Close Up

Deer are frequent guests in our front yard.  Most of them are blowing their coats. Ken got this great shot of one little guy with cockle-burrs in his hair.

Yesterday we woke to about an inch or two of snow.  Mid afternoon temperatures were in the low thirties. When the sun came out the snow quickly melted off our deck .  There were a few more flurries during the day but nothing significant.  This morning it is about twelve degrees and we are expecting more snow this week.

A Walk at Lions Park

Yesterday the sun was shining and the temperatures were near forty.  Needing to get out and walk I asked Ken to take me to Lions Park.  I hoped enough of the walking area would be free of ice so I could walk safely.

There were a few areas free of snow and ice but a large portion of the park remained under ice from the gorging of the river.  Ken captured some lovely images during our glorious time outdoors.  The Madison River renews my energy.  No matter what happens it always manages to flow.

This morning we woke to snow falling.  I shoveled about three inches of light powder off the deck.  Now the sun is shining.  It was twenty degrees this morning and looks to be about thirty degrees now.  I love how the snow sparkles in the sun like diamond dust.
