I created this journal for my friends who only visit the Madison Valley of Montana in the summer and ask me the question, "What are the winters like?" I hope you enjoy my photos and comments as I share my Montana moments this year. Perhaps it will give you a peek into what it is truly like to live here full time. Welcome to my world.

It's Really Cold
It was 14 degrees when we left for Bozeman on Friday. The roads were snow packed and icy. Trucks and RVs lined up at the bottom of Norris Hill putting on chains. Here is a shot of the Madison River as we passed through the canyon.
It was 13 degrees yesterday morning when I left for work. Small snow flakes were falling as the the wind blew them across the road. The closer I got to Jack Creek the deeper the snow.
This morning it is 17 degrees but the skies are clear. Sunshine is a wonderful thing.
Is it really only October?
