It feels like spring outside.  The sky is blue.  The sun shines brightly and it is sixty degrees.  This is a perfect weekend.

Temperatures have been warmer this week.  The highs have been in the fifties and today sixty.  The lows are in the twenties and low thirties.

I feel a little like the bears waking from winter's sleep.  It feels so good.

It's Cold Outside

It has been a bit colder this week...windy and fairly warm one day then cold with ice and snow the next.  This morning it was five degrees outside.  The wind was silent and the sun bright.  It looks like it will be a beautiful cold day.

Yesterday it was twelve degrees in the morning, snow during the day and temperatures did not get out of the twenties.  It is that time of year when winter and spring do this amazing dance.

Ken captured these awesome images of the sun rising over fan mountain this week.  I love the magnificence of the skies this time of year.

Spring Is Coming

Temperatures were warmer this week.  We enjoyed more sunshine and the ice on the pond at Lions Park melted.

Last night it was fifty-four degrees at seven in the evening.  This morning we woke to temperatures in the twenties and a light dusting of snow on the ground.  The wind continues to blow as the sun peeks in and out of the clouds.

Spring is definitely on its way.  You can feel the energy picking up in town as everyone begins to waken from winter's sleep.

Lions Park Field Trip

This morning the sun is shining brightly.  At 20 degrees and a slight breeze we decided to take a short walk at Lions Park here in Ennis, Montana.

I noticed the sun and fairly warm days have melted large portions of ice from the banks of the Madison River on the park side.  The sun does not shine on the other side and temperatures are not warm enough to bring about a significant change.

A flicker greeted us as we entered the park.  Later we were joined by a couple walking their two dogs.  One of them took the time to greet us long enough to receive a tiny pet on the nose from Ken.  Then they were off enjoying the smells and freedom as only a dog can experience.

Friday we were delighted to see a group of local students at Lions Park for a science field trip.  Feeling their excitement and enthusiasm added to the pleasure of our walk in the park.

The weather this week brought us a bit more sunshine than previous weeks.  Temperatures have been in the teens at night and as high as forty in the days.  Everyone is experiencing spring fever.

Main Street in Winter

If you have ever wondered what downtown Ennis, Montana looks like in the winter here is a Sunday morning view from Lions Park.

We took a short walk this morning just before the storm arrived bringing a mixture of rain then snow.  It was about forty degrees when we got up and now it is blowing snowing and thirty-five.

The forecast for the week is a mixture of snowy and partly sunny days.  The days are getting longer indicating we are getting closer to springtime.  Come on Spring.
