I created this journal for my friends who only visit the Madison Valley of Montana in the summer and ask me the question, "What are the winters like?" I hope you enjoy my photos and comments as I share my Montana moments this year. Perhaps it will give you a peek into what it is truly like to live here full time. Welcome to my world.

Feathered Friends
Photos by Ken W. Hall
Ken just sent me these photos he captured of some of our feathered friends.
They are so awesome to behold and some can be quite vocal.
I returned home last night after being gone for three weeks. Ken said we had lots of rain and snow during the time I was gone.
Spring is bursting out all over. The bush in the front yard has small leaves emerging and there are tiny purple flowers blooming in the yard. The grass is turning green and the mountains received more new fallen snow last night.
Enjoying tea this morning and watching the flock of birds dining at my feeders I whispered a prayer of thanksgiving for my gentle life in this valley and my wonderful animal friends.
