"Yesterday, Friday September 18, 2015 a family of moose, including the bull, the cow and the baby, blessed us with their presence, and I might add 'What a presence it was.

I spent nearly an hour observing them all and the places where each fit into the family. I wonder…if I had in my past known where I fit in my family how would my life been different? What really matters now is how I fit into my own life."

Friday afternoon a friend called to alert me that a family of moose were in town. It is rare to see a bull, cow and salt all in one location. I called Ken and off he went.  Of the 300 images he took he was kind enough to share these with me to share with you.  

After several rainy days the sunshine was a welcome sight and made his photography easier.  As you can tell the rain brought the first significant snow fall to the mountains.  Temps in the mornings have been in the high thirties and daytime temps in the fifty to sixty degree range.  I do love the fall weather and visits from your animal kingdom.

I just realized a month has passed since my last post.  We moved from one house to another in town.  It took longer than planed due to the need to paint the new location and the time it takes to move three businesses as well as a home.

We are blessed to be caretakers of a beautiful old home located in lower Ennis.  We have a strong connection with nature, the land and the animals.  Surrounded by trees and bushes on a beautiful creek we feel as if we are in the country but are just two blocks from main street.

While unpacking and setting up his office this week Ken received a call from a neighbor.  He asked Ken if he would be interested in photographing a moose that was feeding on apples in his neighbor's yard.

Ken grabbed his camera and the above photos are the result.  Moose sightings are rare so the three hanging out in town are causing quite a stir.  I am grateful Ken was able to preserve their visit.

The weather has been interesting the past month.  Lots of really hot days in the nineties, some afternoon thunderstorms, a hail storm and now afternoons in the lower eighties.  We were blessed to have such a pleasant summer.

With our move occupying so much time and energy we feel as if we missed much of the summer's activities.  Our collective creative juices are flowing.  It will be fun to see what we create this winter to share with our friends and visitors next summer.

Unhappy Moose

Raised hackles gave Ken a clear message his presence was not appreciated.  The moose was clearly not in the mood to have her picture taken.

The moose was spotted chowing down on the side of the road as we traveled to Big Sky earlier this week.  Several people stopped to marvel at the rare sight of such a magnificent animal.

We are spending as much time as possible outside walking and enjoying this weather.  Temperatures are in the mid to high twenties in the mornings and in the low sixties to mid seventies later in the day.

Leaves are turning color and slowly falling.
