I created this journal for my friends who only visit the Madison Valley of Montana in the summer and ask me the question, "What are the winters like?" I hope you enjoy my photos and comments as I share my Montana moments this year. Perhaps it will give you a peek into what it is truly like to live here full time. Welcome to my world.

The Day The Snow Fell
Photos by Ken W. Hall
Ken just emailed me some photos he took last Sunday when we received so much snow. I am going to break them up into more than one post this week to give you an idea of what it was like.
On Sunday morning the snow began to fall early and fell all day. Here are some photos of me clearing away six inches of snow off the deck before our friend from Bozeman arrived for a visit.
It was calm and the snow was so beautiful as it fell.
As you can tell it was not too cold or I would not have been out without a coat. I think it was about thirty-six degrees.
The birds were busy eating. They must have known what a night it would be.
